    \n
  1. To promote reading and culture, to provide good service to the readers.\n
    \n
    \n<\/ol>\nDetailed nature of work:\n
      \n
    1. To manage all the work in the Public Library Department and to plan the work in contact with the Hon. Commissioner, Hon. Additional Commissioner and Hon. Deputy Commissioner.\n<\/li>\n
    2. To implement the e-Government Policy of Maharashtra State and to take action on it subject to the instructions and decisions received from the Hon. State Government from time to time.<\/li>\n
    3. To computerize various daily work under the Public Library.<\/li>\n
    4. To update the library information on the website of the Municipal Corporation.<\/li>\n
    5. To prepare a work proposal for purchasing books required for all the public libraries of Vasai Virar City Municipal Corporation. To publish the price list and to purchase books from the approved price list holder by making a contract.<\/li>\n
    6. Preparing work proposals for daily newspapers, magazines, weeklies, fortnightlies,montlhy magzines, quarterly magzines, half year magzines, yearly magzines and Diwali issues required for all public libraries of Vasai Virar City Municipal Corporation, publishing price lists, purchasing books by contracting from the approved price list holders among the received price lists.<\/li>\n
    7. Selling scraps from all public libraries of Vasai Virar City Municipal Corporation, preparing work proposals, publishing price lists, selling scraps by contracting from the approved price list holders among the received price lists.<\/li>\n
    8. Binding old books from all public libraries of Vasai Virar City Municipal Corporation, preparing work proposals, publishing price lists, binding books by contracting from the approved price list holders among the received price lists.<\/li>\n
    9. To prepare a proposal for pest control work in all public libraries of Vasai Virar City Municipal Corporation, publish the price list, and contract the approved price list holder out of the received price list and carry out pest control.<\/li>\n
    10. To plan various cultural, literary, educational, and social programs through all public library departments of Vasai Virar City Municipal Corporation.\n<\/li>\n
    11. To provide services to readers and students who come to take advantage of the library through the public library department.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
      \n<\/ol>\nServices and facilities provided to readers through Dr. K.B. Hedgewar Library: -\n
        \n
      1. Book Exchange Service \u2013 There is a separate book exchange room to collect the books brought by the readers and make the desired books available to the readers.<\/li>\n
      2. Reference Service \u2013 The students are provided with the necessary reference materials to study while sitting in the study room.\n<\/li>\n
      3. Reading Room \u2013 There are separate children's section, separate women's section and separate adult section for children, women and adult readers coming to the library respectively.\n<\/li>\n
      4. Book List \u2013 To make it easier for the readers to choose books and to save the time of the readers, a list of the books available in the library is prepared by subject and author name and made available to the readers.\n\n
      5. Diwali Issue and New Books \u2013 New Diwali issues and books published every year are purchased as per the demand of the readers.\n\n
      6. Drinking water facility \u2013 An estimated 25 to 30 readers come to the library every day to exchange books. An estimated 10 to 15 scholars, professors and students as well as an estimated 50 papers are available to take advantage of the reference materials. Readers come to read. An estimated 250 to 300 students come every day to study for various exams. 2 Aro machines have been installed to arrange drinking water for them.\n\n
      7. Generator facility \u2013 Generator facility has been provided so that children do not have to suffer from load shedding while studying. 8) Separate toilet facility \u2013 Separate toilet facility has been provided for students who come to the library for study.\n
      8. Various programs \u2013 Various social, cultural, literary and educational programs like Diwali Pahat, Sahitya Jallosh, competitive exam lectures, editors' conference, book, weapon and coin exhibition, World Marathi Language Day, Reading Inspiration Day, World Book Day, essay competition, and creative writing competition are organized for the readers and students who benefit from the library.\n
      9. Non-Book Literature - Apart from books, newspapers in Marathi, English, Gujarati, Hindi and Urdu languages \u200b\u200bas well as weeklies, magazines, fortnightly, quarterlies, annuals, competitive examination magazines etc. are made available to the readers and students who take advantage of the library.\n\n
      10. Open Library System - To make it easier for the readers to choose books and save the readers' time, the open library system has been adopted in the library. Through which the readers can choose books by going directly to the shelves.\n\n
      11. Free Newspaper Reading Facility - At present, a total of 26 newspapers and 15 types of magazines in Marathi, English, Hindi and Gujarati languages \u200b\u200bare made available to the readers for free reading in the library.\n\n
      12. Study Facility - A separate study room has been arranged for the students and students who come to the library for studies. An estimated 300 students come to this study room every day.\n\n
      13. Free mobile and laptop charging facility - Free mobile and laptop charging facility has been provided to the students coming to the library for study.\n\n
      14. Separate library - A separate library of educational books has been provided to the students coming to the library for study to provide educational books on various subjects.\n\n
      15. Various types of reading material - Stories, novels, biographies, plays, poetry, fine prose and other books in Marathi, English, Gujarati, Hindi and Urdu languages \u200b\u200bas per their interest are provided to the readers to take home for reading.\n\n
      16. Spraying of disinfectant: - All the books, shelves, wooden furniture and student seating arrangements available in the library are sprayed with disinfectant 3 times a year to prevent the effects of sun, wind, rain, dust, bookworms and humid environment.\n\n
