    Brief information about the department:-

    1. Construction of public roads, sewers, toilets, community centers, multipurpose buildings, crematoriums, sports complexes, swimming pools, etc. under Vasai Virar City Municipal Corporation.
    2. Online e-tendering process is implemented through the construction department for the above works.
    3. Conducting various development works under Dalit settlements and MLA funds.
    Departmental functions:-
    1. To manage all the works in the Public Works Department and to plan the work by keeping in touch with all the Deputy/Assistant Engineers.
    2. Accomplish the construction related matters regarding reserved areas in the development plan of the Government of Maharashtra and follow time to time instructions and decisions received from them.
    3. To carry out development works by conducting tender process for works under Dalit Settlement and MLA Fund.
    4. To take action on the proposals submitted by the ward committees for various development works such as public roads, sewers, toilets, community halls, multipurpose buildings, cemeteries, sports complexes, swimming pools, etc. under the Vasai Virar City Municipal Corporation..
    5. To resolve the basic infrastructural problems of the citizens of the city.
