Duties of the Town Planning Department

Prepare a priority list for the implementation of the development plan and provide necessary technical assistance for its implementation accordingly.
Prepare proposals for obtaining financial assistance under various schemes sponsored by the Central Government and the State Government and accordingly correspond with the Government from time to time.
Take necessary action for land acquisition under the proposal of the sale scheme under the Maharashtra Regional and Urban Planning Act/Land Acquisition Rules, prepare a preliminary report of the land valuation.
Prepare proposals for changes as required regarding the development plan.
Provide technical advice to the Municipal Corporation on matters related to urban planning.
Handle all matters related to the implementation of the development plan.

Development Control:

Scrutiny of various construction permits, development permits, planning approvals obtained under Section 44 of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966, issuance of commencement certificates, construction completion certificates, occupancy certificates, etc. with the approval of the concerned Municipal Corporation.

To provide advice and guidance to the Ward Officers of the Municipal Corporation and other concerned persons in cases of unauthorized construction in accordance with Sections 52,53,54, and 55 of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act.
